The start of getting web traffic from the search engine is when your site gets indexed by search engine such like Google and to do get indexed you have to submit your site to one of this search engine. Since google is the most widely use among search engine then this is where you start to submit the site.

How to get index by google? Using the webmaster tools you will get indexed by google.

  1. Apply for a Google webmaster tool account. But if you already have adsense account then it means you have your Google account, use the same username and the password of your adsense account to access the webmaster tool.
  2. Once you’ve access your webmaster tool account, you will be prompted to webmaster tool homepage or dashboard. Select the “add a site” button and type in the url of your blog.
  3. If you use blogger plat from your blog will automatically included on your webmaster tool account, but if you use different platform then you have to verify your account to confirm that you owns the blog. Just follow the instruction indicated on webmaster tool once you add your blog.
  4. After you add you add your blog on the webmaster dashboard, the next step is to add a site map so that your post will get indexed once Google spider visits your blog.
  5. To add a sitemap, select the “sitemap configuration” located on the side bar and click on the “sitemaps” then select the “submit a sitemap” button. Enter the following code:
    /atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100

Once the sitemap was submitted, webmaster tools will check your sitemap if no problem is encountered, your blog post will get index. After your site is get index by Google then it’s the start of the increase of your web traffic.
