Promoting blog increases traffic, traffic is the life blood of your blog without traffic you will never earn money online. There are several strategies to promote your blog to gain traffic such as submitting your blog on a social networking sites or creating article and submit to article directories.
In my case, some of my blog traffic came from article directory where my article was posted and these article directories are among the sites that delivers some of my adsense income.

Article base. I have tried a lot of article directories but this is the only one that I had no difficulties in submitting all the articles that I have made. With article base you can submit your article to help promotes your sites and the good thing is that it’s free. You can even search for quality articles that you can add as content on your blog.
Zimbio.This is also one of the article directories where I submit my article. With Zimbio you can create wikizines about the topic you know about and share your readers what’s on your mind. You can ping your blog so that your wikizines will get updates from your blog.
Those are the two article directories where I submit my works that helps me get the traffic I needed to become successful in my making extra cash online quest.
